Me and my wife and friend called in here on a wee drive out for the day I had a fish supper and the wife had a chicken burger and our friend had a double Hawaiian burger the food was beautiful and the wee man that cooked and served the food was a lovely wee man nice friendly and chatty this place in whitehead is a wee traditional gem proper seaside food love a chippy tea by the sea and for dessert we headed for an ice cream in the rinkha thank you Jesse's plaice for a good feed and we will see you again

the ratings are true. five of us went and took our food to the seaside tables to eat. And when we opened the boxes we were pleasantly surprised by the huge amount of real chips, golden battered and moist fish and giant crispy pastie, not one of those little fat sponges you can get at a greasy joes. I’m heading back to Australia soon but my family have found a new favourite

Visited Whitehead yesterday and called in here .have to says was the nicest feed ive had in a long time , i ate every bit . Price was excellent too. Staff where very pleasant and more than helpfull.. next time i want a beautiful cod and chips i will go back here 100% . Well worth a visit !!

Visited earlier in the summer for fish and chips after a day out. All freshly cooked - really appreciated. Fish beautifully cooked in tasty crisp batter & chips lovely hot and crispy. Will be back. Thank you

I've used thus chippy a fair amount in my life time and it'd only fair I write a review! About 1 or 2 ex girlfriends ago it was always a weekly plan to get some whitehead chippy chips because they are just so good, nice and crispy and good portions I don't know what it is about them but they are GREAT. Deffo recommend. I've recently just moved back locally and got goujons and chips, bear in mind I've had alot these over the years from different places and i was just blown away by how good they were and it could have been a mistake but I got 5 goujons aswell totally ridiculous value for money and batter not like I've seen it before so good I was pretty gutted I didn't get 2 portions. All in all i highly rate this place the prices are reasonable unlike most other places where portions are 10 and the staff are very friendly. This will be my go to for a chippy fix for now on.

Fantastic food will definitely be back when we are in the area again. We had Fish and chips x 2 and it was great.

Proper quality no frills fish and chips. Excellent portion size and perfectly cooked. Great value for money. Wish there were more places that supplied this quality of food. Well worth a visit.
